Zvov is the creative collective of Shaya Feldman (Double-bass) and Maya Felixbrodt (Viola). Both are experimental musicians who begin their path in classical-music and have developed since in other musical styles and artistic dicsiplines as makers and performers.
Together, they create musical and artistic projects that deal with personal and collective fears, anxieties and existential questions, and social and political criticism in simultaneously humorous and serious ways. Like a cabaret, Zvov creates through music, theater and video and collaborates with artists from different fields. Their musical style is a mix of different worlds from classical and contemporary, jazz, pop and folk music, styles that sum up their multidisciplinary universe. Text is a major element of their work, from gibberish to poetry, light and catchy songs alongside abstract text pieces. Zvov sensory and Babel are the last two Zvov projects, with which they performed in various festivals and venues across Europe and Israel. Zvov's artistic approach gives equal importance to profound and to superficial subjects, celebrating the meaningless and meaningful in intimate to awkward relationship with their audiences. Zvov is made by Shaya Feldman (IL/BL) - Bass and voice and Maya Felixbrodt (IL/NL) – Viola and voice. Former members include Clara Riviere – Cello and Cornelia Zambila - Violin. |
